Print App Wiki

How the print app works

01
01

Upload your model

Drop STL, 3MF, or OBJ files (with MTL if needed); your models appear in the list and load in the viewer.

02
02

Configure settings

Pick material, color, infill, walls, and quality; the app slices in the background to estimate time and cost.

03
03

Review price & dimensions

Check the 3D preview, bounding box, and live quote before you commit-orientation matches how we print.

04
04

Add to cart & order

Add lines to your cart, adjust quantities, and complete checkout-we print and ship from there.

Settings guide

Layer height

Each printed layer is one slice of your model. Thinner layers show finer detail and smoother curves but take longer; thicker layers print faster with a more visible layer line.

Height Surface detail Print time Best for
Very fine (≤0.12 mm)

Highest

Longest Miniatures, tiny text, jewelry, max smoothness
Medium (0.16 mm)

High

Longer Detailed props, organic shapes, visible layers still subtle
Standard (0.20 mm)

Balanced

Typical Everyday parts; great default for most models
Coarse (≥0.24 mm)

Lower

Shorter Large prints, quick prototypes, draft builds

Settings guide

Infill

Infill is the internal lattice inside a print. These steps cover most needs: 10% is enough for many parts; 100% is overkill unless you truly need solid fill.

Infill Strength Print time Best for
10%

20%

Balanced

40%

Stronger

60%

Very strong

Slower Heavy-duty parts, high stress
100%

Overkill for most jobs

Longest Only when you really need full density

Settings guide

Walls

Perimeters are the solid shells around the outside. 1 wall is the most economical; 2 is a typical default; 3 is strong; more than 4 is only when you really need extra stiffness. Thicker shells also help hide infill on thin features.

Walls Shell thickness Feel Best for
1

Eco, cheapest

Lightest shell Minimum plastic, fastest; light decorative parts
2

Standard

Balanced Most everyday parts
3

Strong

Stiff, solid Handles, structural pieces, impact
>4

Extra rigid

Very thick shell Only if you really need maximum shell strength
Tip: If you need a part to feel rigid when squeezed, raise walls before maxing infill-shell stiffness often matters more than internal fill for "solid" feel.

Materials

PLA, ABS & ASA at a glance

PLA

Polylactic acid — easy to print, plant-based options available, great surface finish for prototypes and display pieces.

Strength
Moderate
Heat resistance
~60 °C
UV resistance
Poor
Flexibility
Rigid

Best for: Prototypes, action figures, indoor decor, low-stress parts.

ABS

Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene — tougher than PLA with better heat tolerance; classic choice for enclosures and functional prints.

Strength
High
Heat resistance
~85 °C
UV resistance
Moderate
Flexibility
Slight give

Best for: Enclosures, interlocking parts, higher-temp indoor use.

ASA

Acrylic styrene acrylonitrile — similar toughness to ABS with excellent UV stability made for sun and weather exposure.

Strength
High
Heat resistance
~95 °C
UV resistance
Excellent
Flexibility
Rigid

Best for: Outdoor mounts, automotive-adjacent parts, sun-facing fixtures.
